Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka.Mysore offers a variety of tourist attractions.Until 1947, it was the capital of Kingdom of Mysore ruled by Wodeyar dynasty.

     Mysore is connected by road, rail and airways.Lots of buses and trains available from Bangalore city.

          Major tourist attractions in Mysore city are 
  • Mysore Palace : Mysore Palace is located in the heart of the Mysore city.Mysore Palace is one of the most visited monuments in India.It is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara Festival, during which leading artists perform on a stage set up in the palace grounds. On the tenth day of the festival Vijaya Dashami, a parade with caparisoned elephants and other floats originate from the palace grounds.

         Palace Illumination        : 7pm to 8pm(Only on Sundays, National Holidays & State Festivals)
                                               7pm to 9pm(During Dasara Mysore Festival)
  • Chamundi Hills : Chamundi Hills is located at a distance of 13kms from Mysore city.Chamundeswari temple is situated on the top of Chamundi hill which is about 3489 ft above sea level.The temple is dedicated to Sri Chamundeswari also described as Mahishashura Mardini for having killed the buffalo headed demon Mahishasura.

Tirumala Darshan


Tirumala is a famous Hindu temple of Lord Venkateshawara (Balaji) in chittor district of Andhra Pradesh,India.This temple is also known as Temple of Seven Hills.

Distance from major cities:
It is around 500 km from Hyderabad , 150 km away from Chennai and 250 km away from Bangalore.

Footway to reach Tirumala:
There are two ways to go on foot to Tirumala.One is
Alipiri Footway and the other Srivari mettu Footway.Alipiri footway is around 10kms and is the most used footway.It has around 3350 steps.Srivari mettu is around 3kms and has around 2240 steps.TTD provides free buses to starting point of these places from tirupati bus stand and railway station with a frequency of 30 minutes

Other places to visit:
There are so many other places to visit in tirumala.Among them are Papavinashanam, akashaganga, venu gopala swamy temple, shilathoranam, sri vari padalu.Exept shilathoranam and sri vari metlu RTC provides buses frequently.We can go through these buses or hire a private cab.

Important information for new bies:
For darshan:

  • Free darshan is available through vaikuntam Q complex 2
  • 50 rs sudarshan tickets are available near the RTC bus stop.(Need to wait in queue)
  • If yor are going on foot, free tickets are provided to piligrims which has more priority than 50 rs ticket.
  • 300rs tickets are also available for seegra darshan(special darshan) where we can enter the queue line directly
  • Other seva tickets are also available in tirumala (need to wait in queue)
  • If u plan the journey in advance, darshan tickets are available in internet through official ttd websites
For Accomodation:
  • Accomodation counters are available in tirumala.During normal days it took 4-5 hrs to get the accomodation.(Single person accomodation is not entertained)
  • If you plan in advance, for normal days we can get the accomodation one month in advance through ttd official website
  • For simple fresh up, there are lot of guest houses available throughout tirumala
